was born 1985 in a small town called Gore, located on the southern end of the great New Zealand's South Island.

When he was 11 he picked up the flute and recorder, although not particularly enjoying them, put them back down again. He then went onto the bass and that has stuck ever since, teaching himself drums and guitar out of necesity.

Ben has been part of several bands, playing bass, and has written one or two songs that have found there way to being recorded. He is currently the Manager and Bassist of ChickenSpleen.

When not having fun playing bass and jamming with his band, Ben fills in his endless spaces of free time with leading a bible group at school, helping out at a youth centre, mountain biking and eating chocolate, his favourite person at the moment is Jose, and he tends to spend a lot of time with her.

Ben is currently studying school sixth form certificate at Cashmere High School, in Canterbury. When he leaves school he wants to be a teacher of some sort.
